Place: 25-114 Time: 5:15 - 6:00
-Abstract
Every year there are several recalls of millions of pills that are either defectively manufactured or mislabeled by a packaging error, both on manufacturing lines. There is only a small amount of time to detect mistakes and correct the situation.
In this short talk, a prototype system briefly is described that can be extended to real manufacturing sites for testing to see how well it works and to make a production system eventually. There are interesting mathematics and computational problems that are suitable for running for short periods of time every 8-10 hours on a Petascale computer system.
Thi is joint research with Professor Robert Lodder of the University of Kentucky Pharmaceutical College and president of Spherix, Inc.
