AMGLab: Algebraic Multigrid in Matlab to Parallel Supercomputing
Abstract
AMGLab is an open source, scientific community oriented project to allow
nonexperts to experiment with AMG algorithms and then be able to choose
a robust parallel AMG solver. Industrial class problems are the target.
However, student level problems, suitable for classes, are also a
target. The project has been centered at the University of Kentucky,
University of Graz, and the University of Linz. The speaker has recently
moved to the University of Wyoming.
In this talk, we will discuss what is implemented in Matlab, what exists
for production level parallel codes, and how others can become part of
the project by contributing to the open source project.

Abstract
Application for a novel Perturbation Expansion Method for Coupled Eigenvalue Problem between Acoustic-field & Structure
Abstract: This talk describes
a numerical procedure that is useful in trying to reduce noise in
moving vehicles. The method applies to general domains and realistic
examples that are useful to the automotive industry. A finite element
procedure for an acoustic field in a structure is used to produce and
analyze a nonstandard coupled eigen-pair problem. The method is shown
to be less expensive to set up and use than the method used in the
commercial code NASTRAN by using a standard symmetric acoustic field
and structure for (the decoupled system) eigen-pair respectively.
Numerical examples demonstrate both the adequacy of this methodology
and its useful numerical features
